Each card in 'Obscuro' tells a story. Witches, magicians, and mystical beings, who have hidden in the shadows for centuries, finally decided to reveal themselves. They entrusted me with their images and tales, so I could bring them to life on the cards. These entities are not just characters; they are spiritual guides, ready to lead you on a path of self-discovery and revelation.
Creating each card of 'Obscuro' was a journey into the uncharted corners of my imagination and soul. I blended vintage elements with modern visual techniques, making each card a bridge between the past, present, and future. Thus, 'Obscuro' transformed into a unique deck, where each card serves as a gateway to a world of mysteries and knowledge.

Story
My name is Lotta, and I want to share the story of how the 'Obscuro' deck was born. My journey into the world of tarot began not so long ago, but it has already dramatically changed my life. I believe that some things come into existence exactly when they are meant to. My work on 'Obscuro' is a deep dive into the world of intuition, light, and shadow. Each card was born from profound meditative reflections on symbols that connect the past and the future, creating a bridge between times and dimensions. I utilized a mix of digital illustration and analog graphics, combining the technique of cyanotype hand printing with coloring the images using various herbs. Thus, each card of 'Obscuro' becomes a unique work of art, filled with deep meaning and magic.
Creating 'Obscuro' for me is not just the process of making a tarot deck. It's my spiritual journey, a path to self-discovery, and exploration of the invisible threads that connect us to the universe. I invite you to join me in this amazing journey with 'Obscuro', where each card opens a new horizon of understanding and inspires the search for answers within ourselves and around us.
Using a variety of techniques in the creation of the deck was extremely important to me. Applying technologies of the past (cyanotype), present (graphics and collage), and future (digital illustration, montage) allowed for the creation of vivid images that appear as if captured through a camera obscura. In my opinion, handcrafting in the creation of tarot is also a crucial stage for each card to acquire its own magic.
The Deck
The cards are inspired by the Waite Tarot and measure 2.6 x 4.72 inches. They are printed on environmentally-friendly 300gsm cardboard with FSC certification and covered with a matte soft-touch lamination. The name and number of each card are highlighted with gold foil. The set also includes a PDF booklet with names and brief descriptions of each card.
