Product Descrpition: I’ve learned a lot about editing my work for print since making the first version of the deck, and have taken the time touch up each and every card in the editing process to make them all a little brighter and cleaner. The difference should be subtle, keeping in line with the original hand-drawn character of the first edition, and yet make for a deck that appears more vibrant, professional, cohesive, and finished than the original
A few cards are completely different than they were in the first edition. Others have been redrawn, but with the same basic ideas in mind, simply in an effort to better execute the original vision of the card. Below, you can see the new artwork featured in the Second Edition base deck that was not a part of the original First Edition base deck.
It now includes four different versions of the “Lovers” card, and four different matching versions of the “Devil card, making the base deck highly customizable by default.
The base deck also includes an extra, 79th card: The Witch.
The Witch is a new un-numbered card that represents personal power, autonomy, and choosing your own direction in life. It also makes an excellent significator card for the reader or querent of any tarot reading. The Witch is completely unique to the Ink Witch Tarot Deck, helping to establish the deck’s own special personality within your Tarot Collection.
Each card was originally illustrated with traditional methods by hand, using ink and watercolor. Within them, you’ll find a surprisingly vivid spectrum of warm and cool gray tones, with rare and subtle hints of color scattered through out.
Ink Witch features traditional themes and symbols found in many tarot decks, with a few modern twists. You’ll encounter illustrations that reference Norse and Greek myth, pagan witches, fairy tales, Arthurian legend, as well as the subtle but powerful magic of every day life in the 21st century.
