Kau Chim: A Traditional Fortune-Telling Oracle
Kau Chim, also known as Chinese fortune sticks, is a centuries-old divination method in China. It involves shaking a cylinder filled with numbered sticks until one falls out, which is then interpreted by a fortune-teller.

Used for personal questions about Love, Health, Career, and Family, Kau Chim remains popular among the Chinese community and those interested in divination. Whether you're a believer or skeptic, Kau Chim offers a unique and insightful glimpse into Chinese culture and spirituality.

Guan Shi Yin 觀世音
Guān Shì Yīn, also known as Guanyin Bodhisattva or Guanzizai Bodhisattva, is an important bodhisattva in Chinese Buddhism. She symbolizes compassion and aid, and is often prayed to by believers for protection and liberation. Guān Shì Yīn Bodhisattva is described in Buddhist scriptures as being able to hear the cries of suffering beings and quickly coming to their aid, hence the name "Guān Shì Yīn" (Perceives the Sounds of the World).

Guān Shì Yīn Bodhisattva holds a highly esteemed position in the Buddhist beliefs of China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. Her image is sometimes depicted as female and sometimes as male, reflecting her diversity and omnipresent qualities. In China, Guān Shì Yīn Bodhisattva is usually portrayed as a kind-looking female, dressed in white, holding a vase filled with sweet dew, symbolizing her compassion and ability to save beings from suffering.

The 100 Oracle cards
The Oracle of Guan Shi Yin is a fascinating and intricate system of divination that has been used for centuries to gain insight into the unknown. This system comprises 100 different Oracle cards, each of which is based on the most commonly used Guan Shi Yin Kau Chim poems used around the world.

These poems are not only beautiful pieces of literature, but they also provide a meaningful and insightful response that is related to the question asked.

100 Stories
This collection contains 100 authentic Chinese historical stories to correspond to the rich and diverse contents of the Chim. These stories span various periods and dynasties, providing readers with a comprehensive understanding of China's profound history and cultural heritage.

About the Card
The Oracle card is composed of several elements designed to help the user interpret its meaning. These include the Number, which helps you find it from the Guidebook. All our cards' numbers are the same as the original Wong Tai Sin Chims. The Level indicates the level of fortune. The Title is a brief description of the card's poem. The Image is a visual representation of the card's meaning and the poem itself. Finally, the Poem is the original Guan Shi Yin Kau Chim poem and provides a unique message that is related to the question asked.

Fortune Levels on the Chim
Each Chim has different interpretations and meanings, but overall, they all have a general Fortune to tell. Due to the system of drawing lots from Guan Shi Yin being ancient and having many branches, there is actually no unified standard of Fortune Levels for Guan Shi Yin Chims. In the same set of lot branches, you will see that the top Chim is sometimes written as "上上" (top-top) or "大吉"(great luck), etc. There are multiple reasons for this, one of which is that the interpretation of the Chim poem is different to the person when drawing Chim. Different people drawing the same Chim may have completely different interpretation results, it is not that important to have a unified Fortune Levels.

However, when making the Oracle of Guan Shi Yin, in order to facilitate the Chim drawer to have a more intuitive experience, I re-assigned the Fortune Level for each Chim in Guan Shi Yin. The Oracle of Guan Shi Yin will be having the same Fortune Level system as the Oracle of Wong Tai Sin.

There are 5 levels of Guan Shi Yin Chim, ranging from the luckiest to the unluckiest (there are technically 6 levels, but the "1.5" level only has 1 Chim, so it is classified as 中平).

The 5 levels of fortune in Chinese are "上上、上吉、中吉、中平、下下".

"上上" represents the best fortune, while "下下" represents the worst fortune.

The direct translation of "上上、上吉、中吉、中平、下下" is "supreme luck, great luck, good luck, average luck, and bad luck", respectively.
